3 motors rotate at a high rpm. The 1st motor rotates the 2nd motor which in turn rotates the 3rd motor. The 3rd motor rotates a light. The convergence of all these motors spinning causes the light to appear as tracers.
Helvetica Light is an easy to read font, with tall and narrow letters, that works well on almost every site.
